Don Cope

Donald (Don) Cope is a part time instructor in the department,teaching two courses each semester. Currently he teaches American History surveys. He is a Professor Emeritus of CSU, having taught here from 1968-2005, retiring as an associate professor. Since 2005 he has taught part time.

Cope's fields of interest and courses which he has previously taught include: US surveys, Latin American History, US and World Military History, Civil War Military History,and World Regional Geography.Besides family, his personal interests are books, a Schnauzer, deerhunting, a family farm in south Alabama, and a small but growing (and costly) herd of heritage "Piney Woods Cattle."

Although retired, he enjoys and is amused and entertained by his teaching and contact with faculty/staff/and students. He has been heard to remark, "I'll miss this place when I'm dead."
